Introduction
Ever since Rinpoche arrived in Belgium during the summer of 1996, people from all over the world have been approaching him to request teachings. Students gather round him wherever he is and they continually invite him, not only to come back more often and stay even longer, but to travel yet farther afield. Rinpoche has been responding to all of these wishes as much as time and his growing commitments and responsibilities have allowed.
The first Centre was formally inaugurated in Brussels, Belgium, in 1998 and since then many centres and groups have sprung up in Europe and Asia. They organise study programmes, meditation retreats and courses which are given by Rinpoche and other visiting lamas, as well as a monthly programme of group meditation.
Rinpoche defined his main field of activities soon after his arrival in Europe, which become tangible through the Zangdok Palri Institute (in Europe since 2004 and in Tibet since 2002), Zangdok Palri Lotus (development aid, since 2000), Wisdom Treasury Publication House (since 2003).
