Dugngal Rangdrol Drupchen 2019
Drupchen is a great Buddhist meditation retreat. According to the highest teaching of Buddha, it is called ‘resultant teaching’ and directly connected to our own potential, the qualities of Buddha nature. Generally, the purpose of meditation is to manifest our own Buddha nature. Therefore, we perform this specific meditation retreat.
Based on the resultant path, it is connected to the five perfections: perfect place, perfect time, perfect teacher, perfect assembly and perfect teaching. And according to that, there are the profound meditations of generation and dissolution during the great accomplishment. Therefore, if someone is interested in it, or enthusiastic about it or wish to join it, one is very welcome. In this drupchen, we will follow the specific tradition of the Heart Essence of the Vast Expanse (Longchen Nyingthik) revealed by Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa. Jigme Ligpa is an extraordinary master of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen). His biography is well-known and can be found through the “mysterious Mr. Google”.
This time in Japan we will have a great opportunity to accomplish the source of all blessings, which is the Drupchen of Dugngal Rangdrol. Among the three roots: lama, yidam and khandro, Dugngal Rangdrol [The Self-Liberation of Suffering] belongs to the practice of lama in its secret aspect. On the Dharmakaya level Dugngal Rangdrol is Buddha Amitabha, on the Sambhogakaya level—Avalokiteshvara, and on the Nirmanakaya level—Guru Padmasambhava. The meaning of the three roots are as follows: the source of blessings is the lama (guru); the source of all siddhis is the yidam (tutelary deity); the source of all enlightened activity is the khandro (dakini). For that reason, the accomplishment of the blessings of the inner lama (Rigdzin Düpa) was already performed in Dharma City this year, and the second accomplishment of the blessings of the secret lama (Dugngal Rangdrol) will take place in Japan.
When we meditate according to such a profound sadhana, our meditation will become deeper, more profound, and more effectively benefit our minds.
Two-and-a-half-day preparatory course from 26/4 to 28/04 and additional one day course with Lopön Tsering Gongpo on 22/04 (Sun) (planned to be broadcasted for participants of the Drupchen who come from far away) will give everyone the opportunity to learn the perfect way of performing Drupchen.
The Drupchen itself will be performed for 8 nights and 7 full days (28/04 6pm to 06/05 8am).
During these seven days retreats, practitioners continuously perform the Dugngal Rangdrol Sadhana practice (sadhana), offer the feast (tsok) and recite the drupchen prayers and mantra. Mantra recitation will be done in a shift system so that everyone can rest between recitations.
The drupchen will take place in the wonderful place of Sherab Getse Ling that was blessed last year by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who is perceived by Tibetans as the embodiment of Avalokiteshvara.
